We list below just a few scholarships currently accepting applications, as well as some links you can use to search for scholarships that might meet your particular situation. We do not endorse any of the websites, but simply provide them for your convenience. Additional helpful links are provided below.

Local Scholarships  

Certificate of Residency
Residents of Idaho may qualify for county support if attending College of Southern Idaho, North Idaho College, or College of Western Idaho.  You could receive a $500 per semester benefit with an approved Certificate of Residency.  To apply for this benefit, check your college's website for their form, fill it out, and take it to your County Clerk's office.

Ainsworth
The trust of the late David and Elizabeth Ainsworth provides scholarships to graduating seniors at Salmon High School, to be used at the schools of their choice.  Selection is based on academic performance, clarity of future plans and financial needs.  Click here or come to the counselor’s office for application form.

Almira Capps 4-H Scholarship
Apply for this scholarship if you are a graduating high school senior from Lemhi County.  You must have participated in 4-H a total of five years, two of which were while you were in high school, with the last year in Lemhi County.

American Legion Auxiliary
There are a number of scholarships available through the American Legion Auxiliary.  Please come to the counselor's office for American Legion scholarship applications.

     American Legion Auxiliary Lloyd Shaw Unit #67 Local Scholarship

     Nurses Scholarship
  • A one year scholarship in nursing, for an applicant entering training, in the amount of $1,000.00 will be granted by the Department of Idaho, American Legion Auxiliary to the chosen applicant (whether traditional or non-traditional student) who is the child or grandchild of a veteran.  Other rules of eligibility apply.  Eligibility information and applications are in the counselor’s office.  P.1P.2P.3

     Spirit of Youth Scholarship for Junior Members 
  • Five four-year scholarships will be awarded for the 2010-2011 Auxiliary year.  One four-year scholarship will be awarded in each Division of the American Legion Auxiliary in the amount of $1,000 a year.  All are gift scholarships and are not loans.  Candidates shall be junior members of the American Legion for the past 3 years and hold a current membership card.             Deadline March 1, 2013

     General Studies Scholarship Application for Traditional or Non-Traditional Students
  • One General Study’s scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be granted from the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Idaho, to the chosen applicant either a traditional or non-traditional student. Applicant must be a veteran’s child or grandchild.  P1P2P3

     American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship for Non-Traditional Students
  • One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in each Division of the American Legion Auxiliary. Applicant must be a non-traditional student returning to the classroom after some period of time in which his/her formal education was interrupted or a non-traditional student who is just beginning his/her education at a later point in life.

     Americanism Essay Contest
  • Each year, the American Legion Auxiliary sponsors an Americanism Essay Contest for students in grades 3-12.  Grade levels are divided into five classes.  One award in each of the five classes will be awarded.  Winners will receive $5.00 and a $50.00 honorarium in the student’s name to the National President’s Scholarship Fund.

     National President’s Scholarship
  • Fifteen scholarships will be awarded for the 2013-2014 Auxiliary year.  Three scholarships will be awarded in each Division of the American Legion Auxiliary:  one in the amount of $2,500, one in the amount of $2,000 and one in the amount of $1,000.  All are gift scholarships and not loans. Candidates must have a father, grandfather, great grandfather, or stepfather and step-grandfather that served in any U.S. war from April 1917 to present.   P1P2P3P4P5

Backstage Dance
To apply for this scholarship you must have been enrolled in dance classes for a minimum of 5 years (from any dance studio), must currently be enrolled in a dance class (any dance class) and must be a high school senior graduating from Salmon High School or Leadore High School this year.

This scholarship is awarded to a Lemhi County graduating Senior in good standing with a GPA of 2.0 or more. Applications available here or in the counselor's office.

Brackett/Monoyios Salmon, Idaho Scholarship Fund
The Brackett/Monoyios Salmon, Idaho Scholarship is in the amount of $5,000.00 per year for a maximum of four years.  This scholarship is open to students from Salmon High School, Salmon Alternative School, Leadore High School, or any other Lemhi County school including home schooled students.  Applicant must have a GPA of at least 3.75 on a scale of 4.0 and be in the top 10% of competing applicants. Clyde Phillips Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Clyde Phillips through the generosity of Gene Hussey.  Community service and involvement will be considered.   Intended field of study must be Agriculture related.  Deadline April 20, 2014

Custer Telephone Broadband Services LLC
This $1,000 scholarship is designed to assist graduating seniors of Salmon High School and enrolled College students (former graduates of Salmon High School) who wish to continue their education at a college, university or trade school.  Click here to see the scholarship guidelines and application.

Dr. Herbert K.W. & Ramona W. Bradley Memorial Scholarship

Gear-Up
Applicants must complete the general Idaho State scholarship application online on or before January 15th of the graduation year at the Idaho State Board of Education website.

Gutter Dusters
The Salmon Women’s Gutter Dusters Club offers two $300 scholarship awards.  To be eligible you must have had good scholastic records and practice good sportsmanship in any sport you have participated in. See the guidelines and application.

Hans F. Koenig Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the staff of The Upper Salmon Basin Watershed Program in memory of Hans Koenig. It has been made possible by the sacrifice and caring of multiple donors.  Applicant must be a qualifying High School student, including Home Schooled students OR a student presently enrolled in college, university or technical school.  GPA 2.30 or greater (provide official transcript).

IAC - Idaho Association of Counties
Children of county employees working more than 20 hours per week and the children and grandchildren of county elected officials by the Idaho Association of Counties Scholarship Fund may apply for this scholarship.  Recipients must attend any Idaho college, university or vocational/technical school full-time for the 2013-2014 academic year and be enrolled in either an academic or vocational education program leading towards a degree or certification.

Idaho Horse Council Educational Scholarship Program  
The Idaho Horse Council, a non-profit association, is composed of organizations across the state involved in the equine industry. Scholarships are being offered for the 2014 school year for graduates of Idaho High Schools. Must be completed and received by the Idaho Horse Council by February 25, 2014.

Idaho Power Scholarship
Any student residing in the Idaho Power service area who is in the graduating class of an accredited high school or its rated equivalent, plans full-time attendance at any accredited Idaho or Oregon two or four year college, university, or vocational-technical school, and has a minimum 3.75 GPA may apply.  Application    is also available online.

Jason Armstrong
The Salmon Co-ed Softball Association will award a $500 scholarship to one male student and one female student.  This scholarship is open to all graduating seniors with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.  It will be awarded based on a combination of GPA, community service, extracurricular activities and quality of written essay. Jeff Allen Memorial BSU Scholarship
Applicant must be a senior with a GPA of 2.5 or better, planning on attending Boise State University.   Amount of scholarship - $750.  Application form is available online or in the counselor’s office.

Kiwanis Scholarship
The Salmon Kiwanis Club is offering three $400 scholarships to students who demonstrate a strong commitment towards community service.  To apply for this scholarship, students need to briefly describe their voluntary community service projects and the number of hours they have put in.  In addition, students are to write a 500-1000 word essay on why community service is important to them.  Applications must be postmarked on or before April 22, 2013.  Click here for the application.

Lemhi County 4-H Basket Scholarship
Apply for this scholarship if you are a graduating high school senior or college freshman, sophomore, junior or senior and have participated in 4-H for five years.  You must have participated two of those years while attending high school and must have attended the last year in Lemhi County.

Lemhi County Cattlewomen's Freshmen Scholarship 
This scholarship is for residents of Lemhi County or the Pahsimeroi Valley who have graduated from Salmon, Leadore, or Challis High Schools.  Recipients must be accepted to college studying in an agricultural related field. See application for more information.

Recipient must be a resident of Lemhi County or the Pahsimeroi Valley who has graduated from Salmon, Leadore, or Challis High Schools.  The recipient must have completed at least one year of college in an agricultural related field.  See application for more information.

Lemhi County Sheriff Posse Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior of SHS who is a member of the Salmon High School Rodeo Club, FFA or pursuing a career in law enforcement, agriculture or animal science fields. Applicant must be in good standing with a GPA of 2.5 or more.

Odd Fellows Rocky Mountain Lodge
The Independent Order of Odd Fellows Rocky Mountain Lodge #5 and Anna Rebekah Lodge #14 $500 Vo-Tech Scholarship Award will be provided to one male and one female student of Lemhi County enrolled in and pursuing a post-secondary education in Vo-Tech studies.

This scholarship is not available for 2012-2013.

Steele-Reese Foundation
This scholarship is applicable to 13 western colleges for residents of Lemhi and Custer Counties.  Contact the college you are applying to for amounts and deadlines.
Amount varies depending on the University.  Lewis and Clark University in Portland, OR has not had any applicants for some time.  That amount could be up to $21,000.

East Idaho Credit Union

The Idaho FFA Association works to identify potential scholarship opportunities for its FFA members. The Idaho FFA Association does not directly offer scholarships for its programs, events, or higher education.

FIRST Scholarship Program
Any high school junior or senior participating in the FIRST Robotics Competition or FIRST Tech Challenge may be eligible.  Make sure to pay close attention to individual scholarship submission deadline dates.  New scholarships are added throughout the season.

University of Idaho College of Ag and Life Sciences 
Over 400 scholarships are offered exclusively to College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) students based on GPA and other qualifications, such as being from certain districts in Idaho. Twenty of these scholarships require special applications. Check out this website for more information.

NASA Idaho Space Grant Consortium (ISGC)
Students pursuing a baccalaureate degree at one of the NASA Idaho Space Grant Consortium (ISGC) member institutions may be eligible to apply for the ISGC Scholarship. Other requirements include: 
•U.S. Citizenship
•Entering a science, math, engineering, science or math education discipline as a full-time student
•A current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
