What does it mean to be in the Salmon Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS)?  There are several requirements to gain admission and retain status in NHS.

The student must have at least a 3.4 GPA.

The student must demonstrate leadership skills such as dependability, integrity, enthusiasm, initiative, and respect.

The student must accrue 10 hours of community service during each school year and demonstrate a willingness to work for the benefit of those in need.

The student is expected to act in accordance with school and public rules of morality and conduct.  Students must strive to make the right choices, respect themselves and others, be trustworthy, demonstrate fairness and caring, and be a good citizen.  Students in National Honor Society are expected to take random drug tests.

Students who desire entry into SHS Honor Society must fill out a form which will then be reviewed by the acceptance committee.  Accepted students will be welcomed into the organization during a yearly ceremony for that expressed purpose.  Membership is reviewed on a yearly basis.
