As of last night, (Saturday 9/26), Supt. Born has received one official notification from Eastern Idaho Public Health, concerning a positive case of COVID in our school district. He followed the CDC protocols and both the staff and students who may have been exposed were notified. Most of the individuals who were contacted were very grateful for letting them know so that they can act accordingly.
As of today, (Sunday 9/27), the number of active COVID cases in Lemhi County is (21). According to the Salmon School District Covid-19 plan, once the number reaches 13 or more active cases we move into the Yellow category. In the guidelines of the Covid-19 plan, under yellow, mandatory face coverings are required in school and on the buses. This will start Monday morning (September 28, 2020) and remain in effect until further notice.
By wearing a face covering we are trying to keep school open to in-person education. Remember, that if students can social distance in the classroom, or the plastic shields are up in the classroom, the students are not required to wear the “mask” in those instances. It is however highly recommended that they do.
Homecoming events that were scheduled for this week are at this time being rescheduled, stay tuned for dates and times.
We appreciate everyone staying positive through this whole thing.
