Wednesday April 15th, the Governor extended the stay at home order until April 30th.
On Thursday April 16th, the State Board of Education still has the soft closure until the last day of school for each school district, which for Salmon that is June 4th.
The State Board of Education also adopted the State’s criteria under which a local school board could, if they wished, open school again. The State Health Officials are the ones that determine if a community/school district has met those criteria.
The Salmon School Board met last night and discussed what the criteria were to reopen. No decision was made in regards to reopening the school buildings. Online instruction will continue for all students at this time. We are still providing breakfast and lunch to any student. The lunch will be a drive-by hand out style of both breakfast and lunch at the same time Monday through Thursday between 8:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M. at the Pioneer. We are also using a bus to take meals to students at North Fork and Gibbonsville.
The next School Board meeting is set for April 27th and it will be discussed again.
Today we received word that the IHSAA has canceled all activities, (sports), for the remainder of the 19-20 school year.
